Many Rose varieties come and go over time, sometimes because the name falls out of popularity or more often than not there can be a slow but steady deterioration in health of the variety over the years and they are replaced by better but similar looking newly hybridised varieties where the health and vigour is much greater than the older roses. There are exceptions though, where the breeding has given some rose varieties extra special qualities with much greater resistance to disease, strong growing habit and continued high performance year on year.
