Rambling Roses

Rambling roses tend to be more rapid growers compared to climbing roses, often growing taller with more pliant growth which make them good for covering buildings, tall walls, pergolas and scrambling up tall trees.

Rambling roses flower on the previous years growth, so prune back after the main flush of flower to encourage more flowers the following year or if you dare, leave to its own devices!

Most ramblers are taller ranging from 4.5 to 7.5 metres for the most rampant, however there are a few new shorter growing rambling roses which have the same pliant growth at a shorter height. In most of these cases they will repeat flower, so dead heading is the same as climbing roses.
Plant rambling roses 6ft apart to give them space to grow through one another if desired.
